Paul Boston

Director of Sales

Paul spent seven years at Selestia helping to launch the platform in November 2001 to the IFA market place.

Paul has helped project manage a large number of IFAs make the transition from traditional transactional selling to relationship based financial advice with the aim of increasing business values, reducing unit cost and mitigating business risk. Paul has also been responsible for starting a new retail insurance business and considers Novia's proposition to the adviser market as, "...the perfect solution for the new adviser business model, post RDR and TCF".

Paul's hobbies involve all sport particularly skiing, travelling, socialising, although most of his time is spent ferrying his three children to various venues. Paul is also IMC qualified.

Steve Wissett - North West & North Wales Sales Manager

Steve Wissett

North West & North Wales Sales Manager

Steve has been working in Financial Services for over 20 years where he spent 15 years working for the Abbey group of insurance companies Scottish Mutual and Scottish Provident, together with their international business arms both in the North West of England and the Isle of Man.

Steve has enjoyed top national consultancy positions and also helped bring the James Hay Wrap to market.

Prior to joining Novia, Steve was part of the highly successful Selestia sales team working as regional sales manager for Lancashire and Merseyside and says "It is great to be working with a lot of highly professional and platform focused colleagues and presenting the exciting Novia wrap proposition to the UK market".

Paul has over 20 years sales and management experience in the life and investment industry, working for Zurich and more recently Cofunds, where he was National Sales Manager.

Paul says that, 'Novia's cutting edge proposition enables advisers to become operationally RDR ready now - and our independence removes many of the constraints to creativity and innovation that may prevail elsewhere'.

Paul also believes that 'our industry is at a crossroads - it's a tremendously exciting time to be involved as the huge changes unfold. Without doubt, Novia is brilliantly placed to help advisers and their clients make the most of the many opportunities that exist now and those that will reveal themselves later'.

Paul is married with 3 sons and lives near Chester. He is a passionate football fan and plays regularly to a level that some would say needs work...

Brian King

West Midlands Sales Manager

Brian has been employed in the financial services industry for 30 years, including 10 years at M&G. He joined Selestia in 2003 as Regional Sales Manager working with advisers in the South West of England and South Wales.

Brian feels "the quality and experience of the whole team and the commitment of all involved will ensure that Novia is the wrap provider of choice for financial advisers".

Married with two teenage daughters Brian enjoys most sports, particularly football, and travelling and is also IMC qualified.

Tony Lord

Tony Lord

East Midlands Sales Manager

Tony has been working in the Financial Services Industry for 25 years including 16 years at Skandia where he became the Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands. He then spent a short time at Cofunds before moving to Novia to work in the East Midlands area.

Tony has tremendous experience of the Platform / Wrap market place and hugely values the importance of people in our Industry. He says "it's like a breath of fresh air and is excited & thrilled to be part of the Novia Sales Team". He believes the challenges for FA's in light of both The RDR & TCF initiative can be best served through teaming with the best wrap technology in the market today. He believes Novia are extremely well placed with an innovative and exciting proposition which gives the FA the winning tools and perfect wealth solution for their clients.

Tony is married with one daughter and lives in Leicester. His mantra has always been to "work hard play hard". Many will know him as a serious golfer who loves the ski slopes and misses the camaraderie of the hockey field.

Andrew Back

South Sales Manager

Andrew has been in Financial Services for almost 20 years. Andrew's early career was with Axa before moving to an IFA sales role at National Mutual. He progressed to become Key Accounts Manager, and in 2001 Andrew was approached to lead the National Accounts function of Selestia where he held a regional role for six years.

Following this Andrew worked for UBS's UK platform for 18 months, during which time he gained the IMC.

Andrew says, "Having worked with adviser businesses in the platform arena for some time, I use that experience and combine it with Novia's complete wrap solution to focus on the needs of the adviser's business and their clients. Our industry is changing and I believe adviser firms want to be supported in gaining genuine control of client assets, and to optimise their client experience".

Most of Andrew's spare time is centred around his wife and two children. He also tries to find time for sport, as well as socialising and travel.

Scotland Sales Manager

Born and bred in Edinburgh, Charlie has resided in Fife for over 20 years. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years having spent the majority of his time in the adviser relationship area including over 12 years with Scottish Provident, five with Royal & SunAlliance and six years concentrating on the platform/wrap market with Selestia.

Charlie enjoys the challenge of promoting a new independent adviser focused service proposition and believes the Novia team have tremendous knowledge and the experience of the 'service based' proposition. Charlie notes, "With the challenges of RDR, CAR not to mention TCF, Novia is in a fantastic position to work alongside advisers on bespoke solutions to their individual businesses".

A committed football fan throughout the winter months Charlie is also a very enthusiastic 'fair weather' golfer during the summer.

Julie Reilly

Northern Ireland Sales Manager

Julie has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services Industry, including the most recent 13 years as Executive Consultant with Zurich Intermediary Group. Julie's aim has always been to deliver a quality proposition together with the highest levels of service to IFA firms located in Northern Ireland. In addition to this role, Julie also was a valued contributor to the shaping, development and marketing of Zurich's Proposition. Julie's early career roles include Adviser Support, Administration, Sales & Marketing, Compliance, and as a Financial Adviser.

Julie says of her appointment:" I am delighted to be working at Novia, I have been really impressed by the calibre of people running and working at this innovative and independent proposition. The high service delivery ethos, a key component of the Novia business, provides Financial Advisers with a superb investment admin system, efficiencies in costs, transparency.  I believe Novia's proposition fully supports the regulatory requirements under RDR and TCF, delivering investment solutions for all types of client, and helping drive efficiencies in advisers business models" Julie lives in Comber, Co Down with her husband and two children. Juggling the requirements of a busy family leaves little spare time, but the odd run or trip to the gym can usually be fitted in. Julie is also a keen Ulster and Ireland Rugby supporter.

Chris Skelhorn

Chris has over 20 years experience in the life and investment industry, principally managing sales and account management. He has worked for life companies including Norwich Union and joined Novia from Zurich where he was Area Sales Director within the Intermediary Group.

Chris describes himself as using his knowledge and experience to develop a 'pragmatic approach' to working with advisers to deliver improved efficiency and profitability in their business.

Married with three children, Chris lives near Chippenham in Wiltshire and is also a keen yachtsman regularly enjoying offshore racing.

Dave Chessell

London Sales Manager

Dave has over 25 years sales and management experience in the life and investment industry and spent the last 16 years at Skandia focussed completely on fund platforms. Dave says: " It was an easy decision to join Novia at this exciting but challenging time in our industry. Anyone who has any significant experience of platforms will know that companies like Novia - which have low overheads, are largely free of legacy issues and focus on technology rather than poorly trained and paid administrators to deliver service - will lead the way in the post RDR world. Dave is married with 2 children and lives near Winchester. He is an ardent rugby fan and enjoys the occasional round of golf.

Chris Whittingham

Chris Whittingham

South Eastern Counties Sales Manager

Chris has been in Financial Services for over 35 years. The majority of this time having been spent at Zurich, with five years working at Axa. Chris has experience in both sales and sales management. Chris believes that as the RDR becomes reality in 2012, there will many opportunities for IFA's. "Novia is well placed to help IFA's adopt a high quality wrap proposition with excellent service levels, in order to support their businesses."

Chris is married with two children, his interests include formula 1, football and running. Chris lives in Warlingham Surrey.

Dave has been working in the platform industry for the last 12 years, having spent five years at Cofunds where he launched the platform and ran part of the operations team. Dave moved to Selestia and developed the consolidation proposition working with advisers to move assets on to the platform.

Dave believes "Novia is at the forefront of the platform market" and feels "he works for a company with a very experienced and succesful team and enjoys working in partnership with adviser firms to provide a top quality wealth management service for their clients".

Holding a BA (Hons) in psychology, Dave recently gained the IMC, is currently writing a novel and has been known to complete the odd triathlon!
