Meeting web standards

All work carried out on this website adheres to current Web Standards, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Changeable font sizes

You can change the font size to make it either larger or smaller via your browser settings. Some browsers allow you to magnify the whole page.

You can also zoom in on areas of pages to aid legibility. You’ll find instructions here on how to change font sizes.

Consistent page headings and titles

Consistent headings have been used so that page information is conveyed effectively for clients.

Contrasting colour combinations

We have taken care to ensure that foreground and background colours on the site contrast. We never use colour as the only way to convey information. If you wish to override the site’s colours, you can do this by changing your browser settings.

Additional information

Adobe Reader, or an equivalent PDF reader, is required to view and print PDF documents that appear on this website. If you do not have the software installed on your computer, you can download it for free at https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader.

If you are using access technology to view PDF documents go to the access.adobe.com site which provides information and tools. An online PDF conversion tool can be found at Adobe accessibility.

Browser compatibility

While the pages can still be accessed in older browsers, to see them laid out correctly will need a standards-compliant browser. If you would like to upgrade your browser we recommend the latest free versions of Firefox, Google Chrome and Edge. Mac users may also consider Safari.

Tools, tips and useful information

Internet Explorer provides a number of Advanced Options that can help make your browser more accessible and convenient for your personal needs and preferences. By turning some advanced settings on or off, your ‘help’ technology and other accessibility options you select may work better. Find out how to change your individual browser settings by visiting Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Accessibility section.
